General Description
Make connections quickly and reliably with this breakout board, which brings every pin of its 68-pin Mini D Ribbon (MDR) connectors out to screw terminals.
These breakout boards feature two 68-pin MDR connectors (both female) wired 1:1, with all pins connected to screw terminals for easy wiring connections. Having two connectors allows the board to be easily inserted "in-line" with an existing connection, allowing signals to pass through while being monitored, or to work with "daisy-chained" equipment.
Each pin, including shield, is also brought to solder pads (2 per pin) at 0.1" spacing, allowing easy addition of pin headers or other components. Please note that the breakout boards are manufactured with a connection between each connector pin and the corresponding terminal block position; no soldering of any type is necessary. The solder pads simply provide an area for making optional connections to additional headers or other components.
This breakout board is perfect for production applications as well as experimentation and prototype work. It is helpful for working with Data Aquisition (DAQ) equipment, I/O cards, and other devices that use a Mini D Ribbon connector.

MDR Connector Details
The Mini Delta Ribbon (MDR) series of connectors provides a compact arrangement of durable sliding 'ribbon' contacts. The high contact density and good performance at high speeds have yielded many applications for this connector type. These are 'half-pitch' connectors, meaning that the contact spacing is tighter than full-size Centronics connectors, such as those used on our BRKDC36F or BRKDC50F breakout boards. The 'half-pitch' connectors utilize contacts on 0.05" centers.

Note: For the vertical connectors, the threaded inserts are populated with an M2.5 screw inserted from the bottom of the PCB.

Mounting Options
These products are available in two different mounting variants. Product numbers ending with -DIN come with DIN clips already installed and ready to snap onto 35mm or 32mm DIN rail. Product numbers ending with -FT have stick-on rubber feet installed on the bottom side, allowing for benchtop use or panel mounting. For panel mounting, we suggest 1/4" nylon standoffs under the mounting holes, and #6 screws.BRKAMC68FF-S-DIN

This breakout board is general-purpose in nature and useful when interfacing to a variety of equipment. There is some use of this 68-pin MDR connector in the data aquisition and instrumentation fields. This breakout board is designed to work with this type of system to split out I/O signals for connection to other equipment. Examples include the GUNT 'FL 151' Multi-Channel Measuring Amplifier.
