Use these cables to interconnect equipment which utilizes 68-pin VHDCI (Very High Density Cable Interconnect) connectors.
These attractive cables feature 68-pin VHDCI connectors on each end, twisted pair wiring, and a shielded cable jacket.
They are offered in both the Male-to-Male configuration as well as the Male-to-Female (VHDCI Extension Cable) configuration. All male
ends use metal connector hoods, while female ends are overmolded. Several cable lengths are offered in each configuration.
VHDCI connectors utilize sliding ribbon contacts instead of standard pins. This connector provides
a highly compact arrangement of contacts which is particularly useful in arrangements where space is limited.
VHDCI connectors are also sometimes called Very High Density Connector Interfaces and are used on SCSI-5 connections, though these cables have not been tested for suitability with SCSI-5.
These cables are compatible with Winford Engineering's 68-pin VHDCI breakout boards.
National Instruments™ Compatibility
National Instruments™ uses this 68-pin VHDCI connector on some of their
DAQ and I/O equipment. These cables share this same VHDCI connector and may be used for interfacing to these National Instruments products.
Please note that these cables may be constructed with different wire pairing, materials, or shielding techniques than similar NI™ cables. The suitability of these cables should be evaluated for each particular application.
Note that NI™ actually uses two different styles of 68-pin connectors: the VHDCI, and the half-pitch DSUB (0.050 D-type). These Winford Engineering cables will connect to
NI equipment using the VHDCI connector. They may also be used with 0.050 D-type boards by using an appropriate adapter cable.

These cables mate with TE Connectivity Part# 5796055-1 which they describe as a CHAMP 0.8mm pitch connector. It also mates with Amphenol Part# HE11-RAA-101.
There are likely a number of other parts and manufacturers with mating connectors as well.
