General Description
If the mounting holes on your device don't match up with holes on our other plates, then these plates may be for you! Slots in these plates allow installation of threaded cage nuts (sold seperately) for mounting your devices. The cage nut locations are easily adjustable due to the ability to slide back and forth in the slot, making these plates versatile for mounting a wide variety of devices to standard 35mm DIN rail.
The mounting plate is made of sturdy 0.125" thick Aluminum plate material and comes with 3/8" long standoffs to allow maximum cage nut adjustment range. The plate comes with a sturdy steel DIN rail bracket (part# DINM21) installed. The DIN brackets may be purchased alone if you desire the bracket without the adapter plate.
These adapter plates are alternately known as DIN rail mounting plates, DIN adapter plates, DIN rail brackets, etc. We sell many varieties of universal DIN rail mounting plates and DIN rail brackets for numerous applications.
Alternate Orientation
These plates include an alternate set of mounting holes for a rotated orientation of 90° on your DIN Rail. This can be helpful if the footprint of the assembly in the shipped orientation is not formatted best for your application. The product is shipped in "portrait" orientation; for reconfiguration of the product in "landscape" orientation, remove all four mounting screws and standoffs, and reinstall in the alternate position.

Mounting Your Devices
To mount a device onto the plate, first install the cage nuts from the bottom of the plate, then line up the cage nuts with the mounting holes on your device and use the appropriate screws to secure them.
Installing and Removing the Plate Assembly
These DIN rail plate assemblies are easily attached and detached from the DIN rail. When on the rail, the bracket latches to the rail on both the top and bottom lips of the rail. The bracket should be oriented such that the "fixed" (non spring-loaded) end of the bracket mounts to the top of the DIN rail, thus allowing the fixed end to bear the load. The spring-loaded sliding hooks will then grip the bottom of the DIN rail. This arrangement provides the greatest rigidity and load capacity.
There are two methods for removing the plate from the DIN rail:
- Push & Pivot: In most cases, the simplest method is to push up on the assembly, pivot the top out away from the rail, and lower the entire assembly off the rail. This technique does not require access to the release handle on the bracket which makes this method easier.
- Release Handle: If, for some reason, the Push & Pivot method does not work for your application, you can also remove the plates from a DIN rail using the release handle on the bracket. Either pull the handle from the bottom edge of the bracket, or push the handle down from the top edge of the bracket. This releases the sliding hooks that grip the bottom of the rail and allows the bottom edge of the bracket to swing out away from the DIN rail. The entire plate and your mounted device can then be lifted off the DIN rail.
